The HPLC Systems Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of complex analytical instruments, such as HPLC systems. By providing technical expertise and support, the specialist contributes to the efficiency and reliability of laboratory processes, ultimately aiding in the delivery of accurate and reliable results. Moreover, the specialist facilitates collaboration within the team and with external service technicians, fosters compliance with regulatory requirements, and actively contributes to the development of internal projects, thus enhancing overall organizational effectiveness and scientific advancement.

Your Responsibility
  • Assume technical ownership of complex instruments, particularly HPLC systems, ensuring their proper functioning and reliability.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration tasks on analytical instruments to uphold optimal performance standards.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and minor repairs of analytical instruments to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Communicate with, coordinate, and supervise external service technicians to address technical issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to good documentation practices and compliance with relevant legal provisions to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain general lab cleanliness and organization, and support lab safety initiatives to create a safe and conducive work environment.
  • Provide support in the development of internal projects within the team, contributing technical expertise and insights to achieve project objectives.
What you need to succeed
  • Completed CTA or BTA training, or comparable qualification. A Bachelor’s degree in science (chemistry, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy, or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Possess at least 3 years of relevant work experience servicing analytical instruments, particularly HPLC systems, or in a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge in electronics and computer setup would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with chromatography software would be advantageous.
  • Prior experience with good documentation practices and good research practice.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability and independence in handling responsibilities.
  • Employ an analytical approach to problem-solving and solution-finding.
  • Display a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Exhibit keen attention to detail in all tasks and processes.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
